Customer Reviews about United States Postal Service:

I went to the anna il post office oct 11 to mail my small envelopes. I have mailed thousands of them in the past they always weigh less then a ounce. Today I took approx 18 letters. I also put some of my own stamps on to use up some of my old stamp collection. She was upset that she had to try to add up the stamps so I added them all up and put the number below the stamps as she did not seem capable of adding the stamps together like a 17 cent stamp and a 15 cent stamp. But all the sudden I look at the screen and they are weighing more then 1 oz. I asked the clerk who happened to be the postmaster Judy Hughes to weigh them on another machine as she was over charging me. She indicated the scale had been certified that morning and it was correct, and she had no way of testing it. I then took a single paper and put it on her scales and asked her what it weighed and she said .60 of a oz. I said that that single piece cant weigh that and I asked her to at least put a 1 oz item on her scale or recheck it to make sure it was correct and or weigh it on one of the other scales . and she refused saying I could take my mail to another post office if I did not like her scales. I told her that I did not want the remainder of my mail weighed as she was over charging me and I wanted my other 9 nine letters back and refunded as I cannot afford to be overcharged. She said she did not have the time to refund me as there were other customers waiting. I asked her when the other window and different scale would be open and she said 2pm . I said I will be back do not mail my packages I want them weighed when the other window is open she said she would hold them. I went back at 2pm and the other window was open and she was standing there . She said what do you want and I said I want to have my earlier mail re weighed on this other scale as we discussed. She said Sorry but I already put your mail thru the system. I said why did you do that you agreed to hold it till I came back and she said so what|. I then said I would like to have these other 8 letters mailed and sent and see if they weigh over 1oz . She took one put it on the scale and said this cant go first class as its non-machineable then she called over one of her employees . This employee picks it up and looks at her and says yes that's non machineable and cant go first class. I said can you check it and she just says no all your mail is non machine able and will not go first class. I pick it up and say that its got a piece of felt in it and all are bendable AND LESS THEN A 1/4 INCH THICK and you have mailed thousands of these for me every day for the past 3 years and now all the sudden they cant be mailed first class. The post master then said you were just lucky before and that's why I charged you extra today. (which was a lie} I then took my mail to the Jonesboro Il Post office. Gave them the mail and said the anna postmaster Judy Hughes said these could not go first class could you check them and mail out . She ran some thru her official slot and said there's nothing wrong with any of these and they can go first class no problem and all them weighed between .60 and .79 of a ounce. She then wrote on my reciept that they were all machinable and signed her name Amy Ralls. TO SUM IT UP THE POSTMASTER JUDY HUGHES NOT ONLY CHEATED ME ON MY POSTAGE BUT CHEATED EVERY CUSTOMER IN ANNA THAT DAY. SHE COULD HAVE JUST RECONIZED THE MISTAKE AND CORRECTED IT ON THE SPOT BUT SHE ALSO TRIED TO COVER HER MISTAKE UP BY MAILING MY MAIL BEFORE IT COULD BE REWEIGHED . SHE THEN TRIED TO COVER UP THE OVER CHARGES BY SAYING THAT ALL MY MAIL WAS NON MACHINEABLE AND REFUSED TO MAIL THEM FIRST CLASS. IF THIS POSTMASTER JUDY HUGHES WILL GO TO THIS MUCH TROUBLE TO COVER HER MISTAKES ON THIS SMALL ISSUE I HATE TO SEE HOW THIS UNITED STATES POST OFFICE WHICH I HELP FUND RUNS THE REST OF THE TIME AND I AM REQUESTING A FULL INVESTAGATION I CERTIFY THE ABOVE IS TRUE AND HAPPENED TODAY OCT 11 2011 AT 1258PM ALAN PIGG
